Rugby 80 is a weight-restricted form of Rugby.
In Sydney the Rugby 80 competition has a flat weight limit of 85 kilos.
The first international Rugby 80 tournament was held in Thailand in 2005 and was won by New South Wales when the 'Trim Tahs' beat Auckland in the final.
The average weight of players in that tournament had to be 82kg per team, with no single player having a weight that is greater than 87kg. However, competitions overseas tend to differ slightly in weight requirements.
In 2006 the tournament was again held in Thailand and was contested by New South Wales, two Sri Lankan teams (Sri Lanka Central and the Defence Services XV), a Lloyd McDermott XV (consisting of Aboriginal players), and a Royal Thai Navy Team.
The Trim Tahs took out the title again in 2006. In 2007 they undertook an unbeaten tour of New Zealand.
