CROATIAN RUGBY PLAYERS REQUIRED
If you are of Croatian descent you may be eligible to play for the country of your ancestors and heritage.

If you are of Croatian descent you may be eligible to play for the country of your ancestors and heritage.

Upcoming games include World Cup Qualifiers for 2011 Rugby World Cup and European Grading Games.

It is test match football with a lot at stake on the outcome.

As well as the 15 aside official games there is also the potential to play 7s for the Croatian 7s team and preparations are under way to organise a couple of Barbarians games in Split and Zagreb later this year.

Selection and performance in any number of these games has the potential to open doors into other markets and develop you as a rugby player in general.

There are official guidelines that govern the selection for the National side as there are in any IRB or Rugby World Cup involvement.

These can be explained in detail should or alternatively the IRB and RWC websites outline selection eligibility details.

There is also an option of playing, coaching and refereeing in the Croatian domestic league. This option can taken up by players of any nationality. The IRB and RWC eligibility rules do not apply to this.

Brendon Winslow is the official Australian scout for the Croatian National Rugby Team and an unofficial scout for clubs, coaches and referees.

Brendon is a New Zealander of Croatian descent and now lives on the Gold Coast. He played and coached rugby in Croatia and first played for the Croatian National Team in 1995 through till 2004. He has played for Croatia alongside the likes of former All Blacks Frano Botica and Mathew Cooper.

The Croatian Adriatic Coast is simply stunning and the culture of cities like Zagreb have a lot to offer anyone wishing to visit or stay for an extended period of time. And of course our rugby people there will make your stay one you will not forget.

If you would like to be involved or have an interest in Croatian rugby of any level please do not hesitate to contact Brendon for further details.
